Ocean Grille Restaurant

As one of the first restaurants in Shelter Cove built in 1984 known as Harbormaster’s, locals and visitors have dined out on the water enjoying the ever so popular Shelter Cove Marina for years. Shelter Cove Marina opened in 1983 with the Ship’s Store and Harbormaster’s Restaurant following a year later. When Harbormaster’s first opened, it was one of the few fine dining venues on Hilton Head. Islanders and visitors were required to wear a jacket to dine and tableside dining was available on the menu.

Taken over by The Lowrey Group in 2005, converting its name to “Ocean Grille,” the restaurant has taken on a new edge with a more laid back approach to fine dining. Eliminating the required jackets and tableside dining, now the style consists of a relaxed upscale atmosphere, with the Freshest Seafood, Largest Live Maine Lobsters and USDA Prime Steaks complete with a large wine cellar and list of wines from around the world.

Ocean Grille has received the 2006 wine spectator award, is rated three diamonds by AAA, placed first in the 2006 Low Country Soup Challenge and has been recognized by Celebrate Hilton Head magazine for their wine training.
